NEW YORK DOG TRAINING SCHOOL TRAINER'S BIO
My love affair with dogs began at a young age. My
first dog, Pukas, was an apricot miniature poodle. He brought joy
to my life and found ways to cheer me up frequently. My family never
invested the time or effort in professional dog obedience training.
We always thought his little annoying behaviors would disappear with maturity.
However, 14 years later he still did the same things that he did when
he was a puppy. Pukas was the master of the house and top dog of
the totem pole. Our family could not leave him alone without coming
home to a mess. He liked to shred napkins and paper towels.
Since he was small he begged and whined until he was petted or sitting
in someone's lap. My experiences with Pukas brought me into this
profession. Now, we understand how important canine obedience training
is.

After several years of big city, office 9 - 5 jobs, I decided
to turn my dream of working with dogs into a reality. I enrolled
at the Academy
of Canine Education Inc. of New York. It is the only school
for dog trainers that is recognized by the State of New York. Unfortunately,
dog training is not a licensed profession so, pretty much anyone can call
themselves a dog trainer after watching a 20 minute DVD or reading a paperback
"How To " book. The art of dog training cannot be learned
overnight and every dog presents a unique personality and temperament.
Therefore, it is very important to inquire about credentials when deciding
on a dog trainer. The school is run by Anthony and Mary Jerone.
Mr. Jerone is the canine patrol founder of New York City and has over
30 years of experience in the field (click
here to see a list of the schools credentials). I graduated
with honors and became certified as a professional dog trainer and animal
behaviorist. I was the rare recipient of the K-9 Gold Pin for excellence
in the field of dog training from the Academy of Canine Education.
Over the past years, I have run into hundreds of dogs of different ages,
sizes and breeds and I have learned that no two dogs are alike. For
more information about our programs, please contact New York Dog Training
School so that we can help you and your dog co-exist together.
